For the 2010 Profero Christmas card, I linked a Christmas Tree to Twitter. The tree was streamed live over the web where users could @ Tweet the tree and change the colours of the lights to any colour. I used a list of over 600 colours, which ranged from Denim, to Tangerine, to Gold. These were designed into an automated system that I created to read the incoming tweets and look for a colour on the list and change and change the light accordingly through the use of DMX.
I found this project particularly exciting because it is a true example of Creative Technology. I had the opportunity to work with new technologies such as DMX and PHP, which I hadn't experienced beforehand, as well as gaining knowledge of the Twitter API.
While at Profero I had the opportunity to work on the 2012 Olympics Campaign by Mini. The idea is simple, we just want you to roar support for Team GB. Would would collect your roar and add it to everyone else's contribution. You could add your roar through one of two methods. Attend one of our road shows and get into the Mini we fitted out as a recording booth letting you roar on video, or you could register online and we would call you free of charge so you can roar over the phone.
We then collated all roars on Facebook where you could listen to your friends as well as your own. Everyone was ranked on how good their Roar was, the top 3 being placed on the podium.
This was some spec work I did as part of a larger brief for Smirnoff. We were looking for a way to keep live stats of how much Smirnoff was drunk throughout he night at a club. I rigged up an Optic to count each time it was used giving us a metric to then interpret how we liked. It was a simple solution however the data it gave us opened up a whole new area of idea possibilities.
I worked as part of the core team relaunching the Talk to Frank site. I helped write the functional spec as well as outline which technologies would be used. My main roll while the site was being built and launched was to handle content migration as well as keeping track of of all the new content. I helped design auto mated processes for user generated content to be moderated and uploaded to the site and gave general technology guidance between different departments.
Barclays Stockbrokers asked us to make something which celebrated their 25th year of trading. We opted to make a commemoration of the past 25 years and map out the key events which affected the stock market each year. A beautiful site built purely from HTML/CSS/javascript/PHP.
I was involved with this project later in the production process, I helped with database population as well as creating two HTML emails to raise awareness of the site.

I am currently working with Tom Lynch, another designer/programmer, to produce a bespoke piece of V Jay software, allowing the production of live visuals in real time.
The aim was to create an engaging way to present data taken from the internet. The final piece is a tangible display, which interrogates incoming updates from the micro blogging site Twitter and then displays it by category. It does this through the use of light bulbs which are composed into a grid and assigned a label. They then light up if the tweet currently being processed pertains to the label they have been assigned. The end result is a large display which will draw attention to the more talked about subjects. As I'm using light bulbs there is a possibility that they will blow is the label they are assigned is a 'hot topic' for discussion. I took this into account when designing the installation. If one of them were to blow I think it would be a good live display for anyone present and would also be a good semiotic for subject which are more popular.
I worked with Wood McGrath to produce a "Digital Gift" for a think tank at the Victoria & Albert Museum. I was involved with designing parts of the interface in Flash, Filming Interviews and producing the final physical "Gift". The Gift was a limited edition USB Memory Stick that was to be sent out to designers invited to take part in the think tank.
A Day in My Life was university based project, I had to design and produce an interface which would allow the user to explore "A Day in My Life". It could be a generic day or a very specific one. I tended away from doing time lines and photo albums and opted to visualize my day through emotions. The final piece shows what emotions I'm feeling at different milestones throughout the day through the use of colour and colour key which is tabbed at the left hand side. It was produced in flash with the use of particle emitters.
I worked to organise and plan the End of year Show for the
Graphic Design : New Media course at UCA : Epsom.
The brief was set by the design studio Us Two in conjunction with Sony. I were asked to envisage the future home media hub, the service they provided and the brand they would be presented under. My service was one which was similar to iGoogle, where by you could customise which content was presented to you, including recommended news and entertainment as well as personalised travel details and weather reports. It was designed to aid you in your life not just an entertainment experience. I opted for a main interface, accessible at all times of the user experience, which was based around panels which flipped in an out of view containing content from different media types. It interacted with the users mobile phone to allow control of the interface and downloadable content such as weather details and travel information.
This an old piece of work, from when I was at college. I had to design a poster for the Holocaust exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, in London, and a book cover for Anne Franks Diary which would follow the same style as the poster.
I produced a lot of visual material using traditional print techniques to achieve a rough hand made feel and then brought them together in Photoshop where i added typography to the piece.
A selection of illustration, photography and experimental stuff I have produced.
